This ...

... is the boy I had a massive crush on, until he and his family moved back to South Africa at the end of year nine. Wait, no - this is the man that the boy I had a crush on grew up to be.

He once broke up a fight in my Vis Comm class, when everyone else was cheering and laughing like Beavis and Butthead. My hero.

Who'd a thought it - Head of Investments, eh.

This is the girl I was secretly obsessively in love with all the way through primary school.

Now a professional harpist. I think that means I win

Depends what you mean by 'win' exactly.
You see what I'm saying.

The meanings of words depend on what they mean? Yes; yes, I do.

To clarify, I meant: the person I had a crush on in school now has a cooler occupation than the person you had a crush on in school.

Which, you know, makes me better than you. Hence I am the winner.

Are we on the same page? Good stuff.

Damn, there's another secret identity blown

:)

Maybe I win, because I'm (arguably) well out of it and you're not. Or, there's also that actuaries make shitloads, potentially freeing their partners up to themselves actually take up all the cool occupations they want, with no pressure to earn a living from said activity. So as you can see, it's all incredibly relative in addition to being completely academic/hypothetical.

She does seem very nice though. I don't think you would have regretted having made the commitment.

Oh, I'm well out of it now. Although I'll always remember her. No, I regret nothing.
