Lyrics I like IV (okay so it's the whole song)

Go without,
Til the need seeps in,
You low animal,
Collect your novel petals for the stem,

And glow,
Glow,
Melt and flow,
Eviscerate your fragile frame,
And spill it out on the ragged floor,
A thousand different versions of yourself,

And if the old guard still offend,
They got nothing left on which you depend,
So enlist every ounce,
Of your bright blood,
And off with their heads,

Jump from the hook,
You're not obliged to swallow anything you despise,
See, those unrepenting buzzards want your life,
And they got no right,
As sure as you have eyes,
They got no right,

Just put yourself in my shoes,
And see that I do what I do,
Because the old guard still offend,
(Their pudgy hearts and slimy hands)
We got nothing left on which we depend,
So we waste every ounce,
Of your bright blood,
And off with their heads,

Jump from the hook,
And you're not obliged,
To swallow anything that you despise

Hmm, I also like singing that loudly from start to finish.

Appropriately named for 2:09am.

I like this one too.

Girl inform me all my senses warn me
Your clever eyes could easily disguise
Some backwards purpose
It's enough to make me nervous.
Do you harbor sighs, or spit in my eye

But your lips when we speak
Are the valleys and peaks of a mountain range on fire.
So let me walk these coals till you believe
I can cut the mustard well enough
Cause you know as soon as breathe we scrutinize

Unknown quotients, you must be using potions
How else could you tie my head to the sky
This new convection has left me wondering why
I can't concern myself with ordinary tripe.

Like what's this morning's paper got to say
And which brand of coffee to make
This is no umbrella to take into the wind
And before we begin is there nothing to kill this anxiety.

But your lips when we speak
Are the valleys and peaks of a mountain range on fire.
So let me walk these coals till you believe
I can cut the mustard well enough
Cause you know as soon as breathe we scrutinize
The paint away.

I also just found, and like, this.

http://www.emichrysalis.co.uk/quicktime/sigur_ros/glosoli/index.php?version=7.200&bandwidth=5600

I was listening to it on the walk to work last week - feeling all inspired and stuff. I don't think I'll need to listen to it for a while now. Tonight kind of ties it up a bit.

And no more shadows either. What a relief.

Welcome :) You clocked on when I clocked off - so late!

>loudly from start to finish

Man, me too. I miss my car stereo. Did you see the recent Shins gig at the Enmore? It was just mind blowing.

I know it's not the same thing at all, but you're not a karaoke man by any chance, are you? Have I asked you that before?

>Girl inform me

Nice touch :)

That Sigur Ros was beautiful too. Thanks for posting it.

I am a (very enthusiastic) karoake man in the confines of my kitchen. Usually while cooking a three hour curry - the eating of which is generally superfluous. Speaking of.. I dined at Tamana's tonight - long neck and vindaloo. They do it well - the fading hindu pictures on the wall, the sitar-led tunes over the stereo, the jovial arguments behind the counter, the air of disorganisation. I became nostalgic for many similar evenings actually in India (although the beer was usually in a teapot).

Hmm, I'd rather not relive that concert of The Shins. I bought tickets.. was excited.. but got the night wrong and realised the day after that I'd missed it. Quite upsetting, but that sort of thing is pretty typical for me.

Have you heard The National? I listened to their latest album in Hum today and then purchased it. I've been listening to it since.

The shadows of your blog. The phantom audience. No longer :)

I've never been to India. I'd like to go. I'm not sure when I'll get to go away somewhere again. Stoopid sacrifices.

I had a lovely dinner in my kitchen after work, prepared by my housemates. I love my house! I really do. Everyone should have my house/mates. Copies, though, because I'm not giving them up.

I am ignoring the bit about the Shins because that upsets even me.

I aint heard The Nationals. What're they like? I don't know nuffink abaht music these days, I'm out of touch.

Ah, those shadows. I much prefer you in the light.
